Denali Investments – A Medical Practitioner’s Perspective

Submitted to us by a client, Dr. Trang Ngo, DDS Kids Focus Dentistry - October 2010

Although Construction Owners Representation is a new concept in the field of medical construction, it has existed for a long time in large scale commercial construction projects.  During a large construction project, an individual called an “Owner Representative” would be hired at the very start of the process.  This Owner Representative would be an individual with extensive knowledge and experiences in the project’s style of construction.

The role of this individual is to use his/her knowledge and experiences to advocate for the owner to assure their visions, qualities, and budgets are achieved.  An Owner Representative has always been a must in order to have a successful large scale construction project.  Although medical construction is usually a smaller project, it is a more complex one that would greatly benefit from having a Construction Owner Representative.

Dental, medical, and veterinary office construction requires a vast coordination between numerous subcontractors and vendors—such as electrical engineers, structural engineers, equipment specialists, and software integration specialists.  Problems tend to arise amid medical construction due to the lack of correct coordination and communication between all of these many parties.  Such problems can include bringing in a vendor/subcontractor too late; not giving them enough information, and misunderstanding deadlines and goals.  All of these problems eventually will lead to a delay in the completion deadline and an increase in the project’s costs.  These problems, however, can be smoothly and easily managed with a knowledgeable Owner Representative.  This is the role of Denali Investments, Inc.—specifically, the Dental/Medical Consulting Group of Denali Investments.

As individuals who have worked extensively in the construction business, especially medical, Denali Dental/Medical Consulting Group  sees a great need for this type of Owner Representation for doctors, veterinarians, and dentists.  They have sole loyalty and interest to only the practitioner/owner.  A good Owner Representative should be equipped with the in depth knowledge and understanding of the construction side of a medical office to fully translate the owner’s vision into a beautiful and functional new office.  Through Denali’s services, they have this knowledge and hands-on experience to coordinate the right schedule, budget, and type of contractors, subcontractors, and vendors so that the medical office owner’s ultimate vision will be smoothly and successfully achieved.  And the best part, however, is their ability to save significant money throughout the entire process.  In doing so, they saved us over three times as much as their services cost!  A significant savings for any medical practitioner contemplating opening a new practice!
